Prospect for Avon Customers & Recruits

When you own your own business, business is always on your mind. It’s the truth. Your’e always thinking about the next step, marketing, growing, value & benefits. You have to, often your livelihood depends on it. So it’s natural that while on social media or in every day conversations business is on your mind. You have your business goggles on. Because your’e always looking for opportunity. But here’s where I ‘m going to challenge you go shift your mindset. The opportunity you should be looking for, is to add value to someones life. To make someones life better BECAUSE of your product or opportunity. To benefit their life because of what you do. And when people see value & benefit – they will want it, no matter what it costs.

The fact is, people love to buy… but hate to be sold. And honestly, people know when they’re being sold to! And I’m here to tell you – it’s a turn off! So how do you sell Avon on social media to someone without being salesy? That’s the whole point, isn’t it!

Don’t Lead with your Pitch

Don’t walk into a new conversation waiving your Avon flag as I like to call it. The first line of your message or the first words out of your mouth should NOT be, “I’m an Avon representative”, or information about your products, or asking them to join your Avon Team. One or two things will happen. First, they may already have an incorrect pre-conceived notion about what Avon is & what we have to offer. Second, they are already guarded because they know why you are talking to them. They know you are about to sell them on something.

Listen, this is a relationship business. One of the first things you should be doing is building relationships with people. Relationships build trust, and trust can lead to the sale, and here is where you build your network & grow your warm market.

Don’t be Spammy! Do not… I repeat Do NOT copy and paste hundreds of impersonal “Hey Girl” messages to your friends on Facebook that you haven’t spoken to in 3 years! It’s just icky and it’s what gives direct sales and multi-level marketing a bad wrap! Just don’t do it! Is this one of the things you’re doing wrong as a direct seller? Instead, take the time to develop a genuine connection. Get back in touch, and re-kindle that relationship FIRST. Why? Because then you can start to identify what need she might have and how Avon might be able to meet that need. Giving someone value because of what you do is what will help you build a sustainable business.

Get the Conversation Started with a Prospect for Avon Customers & Recruits

There are 3 Super Easy, Super Simple pieces to starting a conversation with a prospect.

But wait… there are 2 types of prospects aren’t there? A cold prospect (someone you don’t know yet), and a warm prospect (someone you already know in some capacity). Let’s talk about them both.

Cold Prospect Conversation

This is someone you don’t know yet. And most importantly, they don’t know you yet. Your goal is to make a connection here. You are NOT Selling to them or Recruiting them in this initial cold conversation!

  1. Give them a GENUINE Compliment.
  2. Relate to them.
  3. Ask them a Question.

Pay them a genuine compliment. Maybe you love her profile pic because her kids are so adorable in their marching outfits, or maybe you’re in line at the grocery store and you love her graphic tee. Tell her that compliment, it will make her smile and probably make her whole day! Then relate to her. Maybe you also dress your kids alike for photos or you also have 3 girls. Maybe you also love graphic tees like the one she’s wearing, tell her about your favorite one. You’re showing your similarities or showing you understand where she is coming from. Next, ask her a question. People love to talk about themselves. And asking a question gives her the freedom to tell you a little about herself. She will not only feel like her opinion is important to you, but she may also start to provide information about herself. Use this info later to give her the most value & benefit from your business. Maybe after talking to her more, you’ll end up having the perfect skin care routine for her sensitive skin or maybe the Avon earnings opportunity is exactly what she’s been looking for to help her be a Stay at Home Mom.

Warm Prospect Conversation

This is someone you know already, but maybe have lost touch with them and haven’t spoken to in a while. Your goal first is to re-connect. And only secondly, find out if they are open to your product or opportunity.

But listen, sometimes less is more. Don’t what I like to call “word vomit” on people. Never talk about details of the opportunity in this initial conversation. Too much explaining too many details turns people off because it starts to sound complicated and hard. Just get to the point – don’t make it weird.

Here’s a Big One! Don’t share a link or business info with them in the first conversation unless they ask for it. This leaves them with a positive experience with you and keeps them open to a second conversation with you if the first one doesn’t end up leading to Avon naturally.

When you do share a link with someone… Be sure they know what the link is for. Is it a link to your Avon Catalog, where they can swipe through the pages right from their phone? Is it a link where they can learn more about the benefits and earnings opportunity when they Join Avon Free? People want to know what they are clicking on and what they are supposed to do before they click on it.

  1. Personally Interact. Compliment, Notice a Detail from recent social media posts, ask a question.
  2. Relate to what they have going on, Tell them how they would be perfect for your product or opportunity and why.
  3. Ask if they are open to learning more >> Only if the answer is Yes, Close the Sale by asking for the Avon order or inviting them to Join Avon.

That’s it! Let me show you an example conversation

Transition the Initial Conversation to Close

Now that you have connected with your cold prospect, or re-connected with someone from your warm list that you haven’t spoken to in a while, you can get to the point and move the conversation to business. See if they are open to your opportunity with this 1 question. Put your own spin on this question, use variations, and remember those details from your 1st conversation that you can bring back into this transition.

“Hey listen, I absolutely LOVE __(insert genuine & relatable compliment)__. The reason I wanted to connect with you is __(insert your relatable call to action)__.

Look for Conversations to Start as you Prospect for Avon Customers & Recruits

Showing the benefits and value of what you do or the products you use. Get them thinking about what it would be like if they did what you did or used your product. The goal here is to have the conversation come to you.
