How to Sell Avon Holiday Haul Tips. As I reveal my Personal Holiday Picks, I’ll share my best “How to Sell Avon Holiday Tips”! This is my 15th Avon Holiday Selling Season so I narrowed it down to my favorite 15 Top Tips.

Tip #1: The Christmas Catalog

The Avon Holiday Catalog is something Oh so special.  Don’t we all anticipate getting those Holiday ads and catalogs in the mail!  Make it personal and invest in the Holiday Avon Catalog.  As a special thank you – Mail or Deliver the Holiday Book to every customer that has ordered from you this year – and even to those that you want to be new customers this year!  ORDER NOW because the WILL sell out!  You should be ordering your books 2 campaigns ahead!

I don’t normally invest in extra brochures because I mostly Sell Avon on Social Media online. So did you know, customers can add a complimentary book to their online order for free!  

As I’m TALKING about products to customers & sharing on social media, I typically have them look at the book digitally.  There are actually 2 ways your customers can look at the book online? 

First… the new, improved, interactive Avon digital catalog which includes videos & gorgeous media images.  Share this direct link by going to your online store (youravon.com/emilystephens is mine for example).  Then click on the Digital Catalog menu link, select the campaign image you want on the left, then copy and paste the website URL to text, email, and share on social media. 

Second… the traditional page by page book.  Go again to your online store (youravon.com/emilystephens).  Then click again on the Digital Catalog menu link.  But this time click on shop the brochure on the right.  Click view on the brochure you want, then copy and paste the website URL to text, email, and share on social media.

Pro Tips on ordering brochures:

50 Brochures = $16.50 (the more you order – the cheaper they are).  So think about rotating how often you order… We can order brochures 2 campaigns in advance.  So For example, get 20 of each campaign, then skip a campaign, so that you are ordering 40 at a time.  Saving money because brochures are cheaper, the more you order.  See the chart below.

The Fortune is in the Follow Up – If you give a book out be sure you have a way to follow up and ASK for the order! – Tell them what you liked on pg 14 (trust me  – they will go look) Remember everything you’ve learned about how to Run a Successful Avon Business.

Tip #2: Make a List & Check it Twice

Who are YOU shopping for? — Buy it from your own business, WITH your discount, get a TAX write off, then USE it to SHOW people on social media what you have that they can get from YOU, and when your loved one receives their special gift – they will tell others where they got it and when they do – instant referral!!!

Who are THEY shopping for? — Help your customer make their lists – then ask what kind of things they are into and like – then help them complete their shopping.

Tip #3: PRE-SELL

Our Limited Edition Holiday Line Up WILL sell out.  No Seriously.  It’s not a matter of IF, it’s a matter of WHEN!  Prime your customers, warm them up, turn them on by showing photos & videos.  Share what you are getting and why.  Use your demo limit of 2 to get it NOW for them BEFORE it sells out.  One to show and one to Sell.  Don’t be afraid to tell them it will sell out – it makes those items even more desirable and creates a sense of urgency. 

But Pre-Sell doesn’t mean stock up… The goal is to make money here, not spend money. If you have a plan to move it – go for it. Keep Reading – you’ll get some great ideas to Sell Avon Christmas products!

Get them excited about our holiday items so they buy from you first and not another retailer.  People budget a certain amount for Holiday.  Make them want to spend that budget with you – someone they know!

What you are excited about – your customers and followers will be excited about. 

When someone buys something Holiday.  Ask them to post a pic and tag you for a Free Gift with their order (plus your friends & customers want to help you)

Tip #4: Decide what your goal is and what you’re willing to invest. 

And by invest I don’t just mean money – it also means time.  Is it a priority for you to make money this quarter with your Avon business?  Decide how much you want to make and then plan to invest time (and a little money where possible) to make that happen.  Time doing all the tips we are talking about today – consistently – often – multiple times – multiple ways. 

But also invest in demos.  These items are so gorgeous in person – when you take your own photos and videos it makes such a huge difference.  And then people can see what you got and what do we know?  People buy from people they like.  So show people what you like and what you got and chances are – they will want what you got!

Tip #5: Holiday Sales aren’t limited to décor! 

Don’t forget your makeup maven, the diva that loves glam!  Avon is celebrating the Holiday’s Parisian style with a chic limited-edition collection full of vintage charm and romance!  From dazzling Makeup Brushes to high end Paris inspired rich pigmented palettes to holographic lip gloss.   We have everything to inspire a Dramatic Holiday Diva!!! 

And I don’t know a single diva that doesn’t like to take care of her skin – so don’t forget that extra special skin care collection like the collagen booster collection & facial roller. 

What about our coveted and cozy jammies that sell out every year!  Every woman loves new Holiday Jammies!  And don’t forget comfy slippers!  Did you know…Avon sells MORE Slippers than ANY other Holiday Item?  Yep!  It’s true!

Tip #6: Shop from a friend – not a faceless chain. 

Help your followers Shop Small – Did you know you own a small business? It’s true! “Shop Small” is an on trend term. It makes people feel good!

This year – things look different don’t they!  We have an opportunity – no – an obligation to HELP people more than ever this year!  Help them stay safe this Holiday season yet still get what they need to make their family Holidays and traditions wonderful!  Help them shop from YOU, a friend, shopping small, from a real person, and not from a faceless chain.

Tip #7: Traditions

What Holiday traditions do you have?   As you share these items with your friends and followers – what stories of your own traditions can you share with them?  Because What do we know?  Facts Tell and Stories Sell!  Help them see their own traditions come to life within our Holiday line up!  How can they incorporate those into their own family?  Like Fighting over who gets to put the Star on top of the Tree.  What is THE new ornament for this year? Or Brand New Holiday Jammies!

Tip #8: Iconic Avon Holiday Line Ups

We are KNOWN for our gorgeous décor – unique, beautiful, & timeless.  My own girls can tell you exactly what year it was when we get those items out of storage each and every year.  And we add to those collections every year and make new stories.

I remember when my now teenage daughter was into Justin Bieber! We have a stuffed “beaver” that sings Justin Bieber’s Holiday song. She loved it! And now gets a kick out of! They’ll say, Remember the year we could press Santa’s glove and the lights magically turned on? Or, Remember the year the Penguins sang mommy’s favorite song, “Baby it’s cold outside” and danced? Hey Mom, Remember the year the train went around the tree, and maybe this year, Remember when Mom put little gifts inside everyday leading to Christmas with the advent calendar?

Tip #9: Open House

An Open House may be virtual this year … a LIVE or a group setting on Facebook, or even a messenger party.   Think back on all you’ve learned about how to Sell Avon on Social Media! Or maybe you can have an In Person Holiday Party with refreshments & games.  Maybe it’s a traditional open house – Drop In style – or by appointment only – whatever makes you comfortable with what’s going on with this pandemic.  Offer on the spot shopping in your holiday boutique with some cash n carry items combined with on the spot online shopping from their phone or set up your laptop as a cash register.  These Holiday items just come to life in person – they are so beautiful!  If they can see it, touch it, experience it – they will want it!

Tip #10: Vendor Shows

Maybe there aren’t a ton of in person vendor show opportunities this year with the way things are.  But maybe there are some you can take advantage of with the right precautions.  Safety First.  But a Holiday vendor show can be very successful with cash n carry items combined with a showcase of our Line Up and Easy Online Ordering. 

Try an online vendor show this year with other direct sellers! Just keep your eyes open for them in the community groups you are in on facebook! Just another reason to keep growing your network on social media!

BUT >> Be Sure you have a way to collect contact information from people stopping by.  This can be as simple as utilizing the Avon Sweeps from your online store.  Print a Sign with the image of what’s in the sweeps.  Or see if you have a few of the items being given away in the sweeps to show as an example.  This is a FREE way for you to collect contact information and get emails into your Avon address book so Avon can market to them in the future and you can follow up after the event.  Because what do we know?  The fortune in in the follow up.  Thank them for stopping by, it was a pleasure to meet them, and what can you help them with this holiday season.

Tip #11: Holiday VIP Group

Exclusive deals – BE READY FOR BLACK FRIDAY!!!  We don’t know exactly what deals Avon might be offering for Black Friday online shopping, but they have had AMAZING deals in the past that your customers will NOT want to miss!

First Dibs – Pre Sell Avon Holiday to help customers grab what they want before it SELLS OUT.  Get your demo limit on items you love and think will sell out and offer them to your VIP group customers first.

Album Sales are great way to sell leftover Holiday Inventory & Last Minute Holiday Sales for the customers that waited until the week before Christmas to shop!  Take photos of what you have in your inventory and post to the group in an album.  Customers can comment “sold” on the photo to claim the item!  These are fun, and engaging.  As group members see other people buying and shopping – it makes them want in on the action – makes them feel like they must be missing out!  Shopping in a group creates a ripple effect.

Ask friends to invite friends to your group – then reward them for doing so.  Play some fun interactive Holiday games to increase engagement.  Offer value in the group with holiday survival tips & ask group members to post and share as well.  Cooking tips & recipes, decorating ideas, hostess tips, cocktail ideas!  Keep engagement up and make it a place people want to hang out and contribute to.

Offer Gift ideas and solutions for people on their shopping list.  Maybe a $10 $20 $40 gift list idea for their mother, their daughter, their son in law.  Make it easy for them and get them thinking what ELSE they should get from you!

Tip #12: Offer Free Gift Wrap

This is HUGE!  And not just for the Men shopping for their wives!  Everyone loves to save time around the Holidays!  Free Gift wrap is a huge benefit!  This is such a nice and personal touch – and trust me – they WILL remember it!

Tip #13: Let’s Talk Benefits! 

What are the benefits to giving your all to Holiday sales?  Holiday Sales will set you up for success next year with a new and growing customer base because of the excitement of our Holiday Line Up.  They will remember you next time they need something because you met a need and gave great customer service.  Plus, NEW customers will be attracted to our unique Holiday Line Up and will shop from an Avon rep for the Holidays when they might not have ever considered Avon before.  It’s a unique opportunity to get an “in” with a new kind of customer base.  They loved their Holiday items – so she may start to wonder what else Avon has. Other retailers are pre-selling Holiday – Get your piece of the Holiday pie.

Tip #14: Check out what other retailers are doing

What are other retailers offering in gifts and Holiday decor that you can compare to? What is HOT & trending this year – and what can people get from you!

Have you been down the aisle at that big box store recently?  You see Halloween pumpkins AND Christmas on the same aisle!  You ever wonder why?  Like we said before – customers only have a certain amount they budge to spend on Holiday décor and gifts.  Those retailers want you spending it early with THEM first!  So that they might not have money to spend anywhere else.  So we should be doing the same!  Showing people what we have NOW so that they spend their money with YOU – and not that big box store! 

#15: Find a partnership

Give the bank teller, pharmacy, hair salons, the customer service desk something like a Christmas tree for their entryway along with a stack of your business cards or a flyer with QR code of where the can order it. 

Many businesses are already partnering with a non-profit for the Holidays!  What businesses can you partner with?  Allow them to sell an item for you as a fundraiser for toys for tots or relay for life or Breast Cancer that they are already partnering with for the Holidays.   Think Christmas tree, gnome greeter, shelf sitter – something they can display and sell and keep the profit for their non-profit. Remember those SLIPPERS that we sell more of than ANY other Holiday item?  What about an Avon fundraiser with slippers for a nursing home?
